MSN – Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

MSN Clinicals

Students complete a minimum of 750 hours of direct patient contact through clinical rotations in critical care environments, telemedicine, emergency medicine, radiology, and endocrinology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and affiliate community hospitals.

Clinical experiences are immersive, with students working within interprofessional teams under experienced preceptor guidance, and elective hours allow students to tailor experiences to their career interests and needs.

MSN Admissions Requirements

  • BSN from regionally accredited institution with minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Current unencumbered, unrestricted Missouri RN licensure or multi-state compact license in good standing
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) provider status
  • One year recent RN experience (ICU or emergency medicine required for intensivist track)
  • Official transcripts from all institutions
  • Current CV or resume
  • Two letters of reference addressing academic and clinical potential

DNP Clinicals

Clinical experiences are pre-arranged in collaboration with experienced advanced practice providers and Washington University Physicians at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

Students are immersed in multidisciplinary critical care environments.

Certificate Clinicals

Tuition

Graduate tuition is $834 per credit hour for MSN, DNP, and Post-Master’s Certificate programs.

The DNP program includes an additional course surcharge of $116 per credit hour.

Accreditation

The BSN, MSN, DNP, and post-master’s certificate programs at Barnes-Jewish College Goldfarb School of Nursing are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Upon completion, graduates are prepared to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) certification exams to become certified AGACNPs.
