Why Choose This ACNP Program?

Hands-on procedure training. Students practice intubation, central line placement, and chest tube placement in UIndy’s campus simulation facilities.

Placement help across the region. School staff assist with securing clinical sites in Indiana and its four neighboring states.

Applicants need two years of RN practice by the program start. UIndy recommends ICU, ER, or step-down experience.

UIndy admits MSN students twice a year, in Fall and Spring.

The program suits an experienced acute care RN in the five-state region who can travel to Indianapolis for scheduled simulation sessions.

Accreditation and Certification

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredits UIndy’s BSN, MSN, DNP, and post-graduate APRN certificate programs. Both AGACNP tracks fall under that accreditation.

The University of Indianapolis is institutionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

Both tracks prepare graduates for the adult-gerontology acute care population focus. Graduates are eligible for the AGACNP-BC exam from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and the ACNPC-AG exam from AACN Certification Corporation.

Certificate graduates submit UIndy’s gap analysis with their certification application as documentation of completed program requirements.
